(GF)=gluten free, (V)=vegetarian.  Most egg dishes can be gluten free by substituting Brussels waffle for toast.


Who is GiGi??:   Our café is named after the first two letters of the food cart where it all started...The Gaufre Gourmet.  Our cart is still located downtown at SW 9th & Alder.

Liege Waffle: A dense, chewy Belgian waffle created for the Prince of Liege in the 17th century.  The dough is very eggy and buttery like a cinnamon roll dough.  We knead in big chunks of pearled sugar before it goes into our cast iron waffle iron.  Some of this sugar caramelizes on the outside and some stays chunky on the inside.  You don’t need butter or syrup for this one!  It is super sweet and buttery all on its own!

 Brussels Waffle: This is the light, thick waffle we know in America as the “Belgian waffle”.  It is super yummy with butter and real maple syrup!  Also, it is gluten free, but you wouldn’t know it if we didn’t tell you!

 Scrapple: This Pennsylvania treat is a 100 year old family recipe featuring ground pork combined with perfectly spiced polenta.  It is formed into a loaf, then sliced and fried for a delicious breakfast meat dish.

 Lardon: The fancy french name for the most delicious bacon ever.  We cut thick chunks of slab bacon and then bake them lightly spiced with maple syrup.

GiGi’s is tipless!:  We have chosen to become a tipless restaurant to ensure all staff, both front of house and kitchen staff, are paid a living wage, covered by health and dental insurance with paid vacations and a part of our profit incentive plan.  A 20% surcharge will be added to each ticket (in lieu of gratuity) for in house orders, or 10% for to go orders, and used entirely for staff benefit.  Quality service remains our top priority.  We welcome your questions or comments directly to our owner Charlene at gigiscafepdx@gmail.com
